If you’re thinking about having a wedding in the Bahamas then you need to think about what type of favors you want for your guests. These can be placed on the chairs as they wait for you to come down the aisle or they can be placed at the dinner table as you’re waiting for your meal. It doesn’t matter what wedding you’re having because favors can really bring it all together and this is especially the case if you are having one that reflects the theme of your wedding in its entirety. When you are planning your wedding favors, a great way to make sure that they match in would be to go with the beach theme. You could have mini chocolate star fish presented in small white buckets instead of boxes or you could even have other themed sweets and gifts instead. This is a great way to show your guests that you care and it will make all the difference to your paradise island wedding.
Bahamas Wedding Favors: Your Exuma Wedding
If you are planning Exuma weddings then you may want to give your guests something to go home with. They want to remember this day as much as you do and themed favour boxes can really mean the world to them. If you can’t come up with any themed sweets or ideas, think about having plain boxes with themed stickers or have their name tags decorated on the table. This is ideal if you are having a meal after with Bahamian cuisine and it is also great if you have lots of activities planned after as well. If you want to find out more about how you can make the perfect favor boxes for you and your guests, contact your destination weddings Bahamas planner today to find out more. They will be able to show you the top exotic wedding destinations and they will also be able to help you with your favor boxes as well so there are endless benefits available.
A summer beach chic Bahamas wedding was Natalia and Doug’s vision for their wedding. Easy, breezy and a time to bond with relatives and friends were also key words for their special occasion. The south Florida couple visited several Bahamas wedding venues before deciding on Grand Bahama Island for their nuptials.
We started off scouting Bahamas weddings Nassau about a year and a half before event date. A major resort among others venues were checked out. Specifications such as a venue that offered a beach bonfire and a midnight curfew were top of mind for this couple. The next stop as our search for that perfect spot for their event was Harbour Island. However, proximity to South Florida was a key factor in choosing their Bahamas wedding site. Being able to take a fast ferry to the island of choice was another must for the couple. Many of their guests chose this option while others flew to Freeport.
Bahamas Destination Wedding Site Visits
The couple followed their Harbour Island scout with two site visits to Grand Bahama Island and decided on that Bahamas wedding location. They chose Taino Beach Resort for Bahamas wedding ceremony and reception sites. Both were steps away from the other. We were then set to begin planning their beach chic Bahamas wedding.
Natalia and Doug visited with me so that we had a chance to see the various units Taino offered as well as do a food tasting. We spent time reviewing flowers, linens, layouts for ceremony and reception.
The months flew by and the big day arrived. On Saturday, June 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Natalia and Doug said “I Do” before some 66 family and friends. Natalia chose not to have a bridal party. Parents served as witnesses.

Bahamas Wedding Venue Taino by The Sea
A nautical beach chic Bahamas wedding theme was chosen. Very artistic and hands on, the couple made their table numbers, escort sand dollars a DIY project.
Following a beach ceremony, guests moved to the cocktail hour where steel pan strains greeted them. Passed hors d’oeuvres and beverages flowed. Guests were later escorted to dinner under the Pavillion at Taino by the Sea Restaurant where a sumptuous buffet spread awaited them.
DJ Ampero played a mix of top 40s and salsa keeping the party on their feet dancing until well after midnight.
Relaxed after the evening’s festivities, Natalia, Doug and guests retreated to the beach bonfire where drank and chatted well into the morning.
Guests enjoyed a Sunday morning brunch hosted by the groom’s father after an amazingly fun wedding.
Beach Chic Bahamas Wedding Review
The couple honeymooned at Fowl Cay, the Exumas.
Upon her return home, Natalia and Doug crafted this Bahamas wedding review: “It is not easy to plan a destination wedding, but Marva and Chic Bahamas Weddings made it fun and stress free. We called many agencies in the Bahamas but when we talked to Marva we knew that we found a winner. From the very start we could tell she was extremely organized, prompt and always answered our phone calls, text and emails immediately. We always felt that our wedding was her top priority. She is creative and helped us craft the image of what our dream wedding would become. She worked tirelessly to cover every detail but always with a smile. We both felt confident that everything was going to be perfect and it was! She made our dreams come true and exceeded our expectations.” Natalia and Doug Laurie

Bahamas Beach weddings are all the rage. With crystal clear jewel toned waters and pristine powdery white sand beaches spread across 700 islands and cays of the Bahamas, stunning beach settings are not in short supply.
Michaela, a social media manager and Ryan, a technician from Ottawa, Canada chose Grand Bahama Island for their gorgeous vintage chic beach wedding ceremony in the Bahamas and Pelican Bay’s Sabor Pool for low key, but still chic and romantic. Michaela says: “The menu looked phenomenal, and the setting was so unique and personal. We couldn’t have chosen a prettier spot.”
Thirty guests including celebrities Minnijean Brown Trickey, one of the “Little Rock Nine”, one of the first nine black students to integrate an all-white highschool in Little Rock, Arkansas and a motivational speaker, as well as Hisham Tawfiq, a heroic former FDNY firefighter that currently stars in NBC’s “The Blacklist”, joined the couple for their Friday, May 22, 2015 wedding. Guests came from New York City, NEW YORK, Ottawa, ONTARIO Baltimore, MARYLAND, Cochrane, ONTARIO, Boston, MASSACHUSETTS, Sudbury, ONTARIO.
Guests did not want to leave. They were absolutely THRILLED with the couple’s wedding and said that it was the most fun wedding that they’ve been to and that everything was absolutely stunning. Michaela and Ryan agree! Bahamas beach weddings are fun and memorable.
Grand Bahamas Beach Weddings: Spanish Main Beach
A stunning Michaela is pictured at Spanish Main Beach where her ceremony took place. Bahamas beach weddings are best on Grand Bahama Island that is known for its pretty, secluded private beaches.
A curious flower girl looks on as Michaela and Ryan seal the deal with a kiss. Ryan (and the groomsmen) wore suits by Banana Republic, custom made ties and suspenders from Etsy, Sperry navy boat shoes, perfect for Bahamas beach weddings.

For their destination wedding dinner, the couple chose a menu of spice-rubbed seared tuna, tequila-cilantro chicken, and bacon cheeseburgers with french fries. For dessert, warm apple tarts and chocolate mousse cake trifle were served.

Bahamas Beach Weddings: Michaela and Ryan’s Details
Bouquets comprised wild foliage draped with satin and lace ribbons, aisle covered in blush petals and petals spilling out of metallic lanterns, long banquet style table covered in sea glass, vintage gold candlesticks, mercury votives, rose centerpieces, and custom made signs.
The bride paid homage to her beloved grandmother by carrying a part of her wedding bouquet in hers, and also with a sign on one of the chairs that was specially made by one of my bridesmaids, Kaytie Loucks, who also created most of the signage at the wedding.
Fun Activities and Favourite Memories
The couple held their bachelor and bachelorette parties on the island and they termed them “a blast!” The bride spent the day at Banana Bay with her friends, hopped aboard a boat cruise, where she was treated to a lovely lobster dinner, and then danced the night away at the Smith Point Fish Fry!
Michaela says her favourite memory from wedding day was “when the ferry picked up our guests and brought them to Bahamas wedding venue Sabor and it was just me and Ryan left on the beach with our photographer. I don’t think it could have been any more romantic, strolling along the water as newlyweds.”
Bahamas Weddings and Honeymoons
A honeymoon in Eleuthera followed Michaela and Ryan’s wedding on Grand Bahama Island. “I have two,” she says. “My favourite memories from our honeymoon was surfing the waves with a young wild dolphin, and chartering a boat for the day that took us out to the famous sandbars in Eleuthera where we collected gorgeous shells that are displayed in our bedroom! “
Michaela says, “I would definitely recommend a wedding on Grand Bahamas Island, and would absolutely recommend Pelican Bay. Marva Munroe, Bahamas wedding planner, made the experience as easy and smooth as possible, and she nailed my vision completely. The staff at Pelican Bay were so professional and accommodating, it couldn’t have gone better.”
Bahamas Beach Weddings: Best Part of Experience
The best part of her wedding, the bride recollects, was sharing such an incredible moment with the people she loves most, and marrying her best friend in paradise.
