Weddings in Nassau Paradise Island: Beth & Charles

Weddings in Nassau Paradise Island with bride, groom and guests travelling to the destination by cruise ship then enjoying a full wedding ceremony and reception ashore are popular. Charles and Beth’s event was no exception.  The couple’s cruise with 38 family members and friends aboard Majesty of the Seas was a joy in itself … combining this with an onshore wedding equals bliss.

Arriving at the Port of Nassau at 12 noon, Beth and Charles opted for a 6 p.m. ceremony start time at Sandyport Beach.  Beth wanted a relaxed ceremony with family and friends surrounding she and Charles.  Fuschia umbrellas shaded guests as they witnessed the couple tie the knot.

Bahamas Destination Wedding Resorts on the Out Islands of the Bahamas

Bahamas destination wedding resorts on the Out Islands of the Bahamas are charming, unique and special.  1648 Bar and Grille at located French Leave Beach Resort Marina,Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera, is a one of such places.  This beauty is perched on an area of outstanding natural beauty.  While on Eleuthera to stage clients’ destination wedding, I sought out the best dining spot on the island.  What a relaxed, dreamy and idyllic dining location I found at 1648!

Welcoming archways of beautiful stone and landscape of native flora and fauna greeted me. Further along, I came upon the sweeping expanse of public space … swimming pool, terrace and the blue waters of the Bahamas … all breathtaking.

Bahamas Destination Wedding Resorts: Lovely 270 Acre Preserve

Bahamas Destination Wedding Resorts: French Leave Eleuthera

French Leave is a lovely 270 acre preserve that stretches from the great Atlantic Ocean to the quiet, historic settlement of Governor’s Harbour.  As the resort grows, leisure activities will include water sports, fresh water pool, fitness center and myriad dining options. Its beach access is substantial as is its harbour access.  The beauty of French Leave is its close proximity to the heart of Governor’s Harbour which is conveniently located minutes away.

I took the opportunity to dine at this very special spot more than once.  I would have dined at French Leave even more but, alas, ran out of time.  Fine Art photographer, Dave Cartwright, who shot my couple’s wedding also fell in love with the beauty of this place. Dave could n’t resist shooting several photos at 1648 and French Leave.  We share those photos with you today.

Real Weddings Bahamas on Eleuthera and Harbour Island: Katya and Rosen

Real Weddings Bahamas on Eleuthera and Harbour Island feature the lovely couple Katya and Rosen from Bulgaria.

Katya’s dream was a chic beach wedding in the Bahamas.  A stunning oceanside wedding is indeed what she got.  The couple and two friends flew via their private plane from Bulgaria to Eleuthera to bring Katya’s dream wedding to reality. The four flew eight hours a day over five days with stops in Great Britain, Germany, Greenland, Canada and Miami before making their way to Eleuthera.  Another two friends were picked up in Miami to join the intimate wedding group.

A villa on the private island of Windermere was the Bahamas wedding location.  The couple chose Provender House where Princess Di stayed on her honeymoon.  Located on spectacular beachfront, this setting was the perfect spot for the couple to tie the knot.  The 6:30 p.m. ceremony on June 30, 2016 was performed by Joshua Culmer, Justice of the Peace.

Katya’s stunning one-of-a-kind wedding dress was with Swarovski crystals, designed and made by a friend, flow in the balmy breezes.

An Evening of Dining, Fun and Frolic

Beachside fun and frolic continued into the evening as Katya and Rosen celebrated their wedding.  Platters of cold meats were served as the couple toasted with Champagne.  Then, it was on to the main course of the dinner of grilled fish, chicken, potato salad and vegetables.  A rum cake was served for dessert.

Real Weddings Bahamas: Sara and Kyle

Sixty guests from Ohio, New York, Virginia, California, Texas and Pennsylvania travelled to The Bahamas to share the four-day celebration with  the bride and groom. Immediate family stayed at the Treasure Beach Estate with all other family and friends staying at the Melia Beach Resort.

“Our favorite memory about the accommodations,” reminisces Sara, “was the fact that all of our immediate family was together at the beach house where wonderful memories were made all weekend long.”

Sara and Kyle have “heard so many compliments from our guests about our wedding. They loved the island, the beach location and raved about all the details of the wedding.”

Exuma Honeymoon

Following their intimate and special wedding weekend, the couple headed to Great Exuma for a Honeymoon at Grand Isle Resort.  Their favorite Honeymoon Memory? “The Honeymoon at Grand Isle Resort, Great Exuma, was so special and there were so many favorite memories. One that stood out was our last night in the Exumas. We experienced a very unique local dinner at Shirley’s at the Fish Fry. The amazing food and local hospitality was a wonderful way to wrap up our beautiful honeymoon.”

Tell us why you chose to get married in Nassau: “We chose to get married in the Bahamas because we had visited the islands the year prior and just fell in love with the area, the people and the beautiful scenery.”

Real Weddings Bahamas:Sara and Kyle

Sara says she would absolutely recommend a wedding at Treasure Beach Estate. “This a unique way to do a destination wedding for smaller groups. The intimacy of the beach estate is perfect for family as well as for preparing for the wedding. It was also extremely private which is different from a wedding on a resort.”

The best part of Sara and Kyle’s Bahamas wedding on the beach? “There are so many wonderful experiences. Marva Munroe, our wedding planner, was amazing. She was a huge blessing to us because our wedding weekend was executed beautifully.”

Thank you, Sara and Kyle!  We were delighted to work with you to plan your Bahamas wedding!  Wishing you many years of marriage bliss and blessings!

Nassau Bahamas Weddings on the Beach

Nassau Bahamas Weddings on the Beach are a popular choice for many couples seeking a destination wedding venue. Factor in sunset and the beautiful images lighting at that time of day creates and the marriage is sealed.

Couples dream of powdery white sand beaches, aquamarine waters and venues perched right at water’s edge. Sandyport and West Nassau offer exactly this combination.

And, Blue Sail Restaurant and Beach Bar, Sandyport, Nassau, fits the bill perfectly — it offers the best of both worlds. The restaurant is in close reach to host accommodations of a private villa/house, hotel or resort in West Nassau … it’s minutes away.  Blue Sail is a single location for both ceremony and reception dinner, couples have the best of both worlds.  It’s also ideal for cruise onshore weddings.

Options include a beach ceremony followed by cocktails in the sand and dinner indoors overlooking the ocean.  Exclusive use of outdoor and indoor space at this shabby chic venue is another possibility.  Blue Sail caters to both destination wedding rehearsals and weddings.

Situated in West Nassau, too, is Orange Hill Beach. A public beach tucked behind shrubbery, the lovely spot is an intimate Bahamas beach wedding location for groups up to 20.

Host your ceremony here then dine at a nearby restaurant such as the stunning Sapodilla Fine Dining Restaurant or Compass Point Resort.

We’re very fond of the quiet nature of Orange Hill. For cruiseship onshore weddings, this is a 25 minute ride by car from the cruise port … well worth the trip.

Bahamas Weddings Beach at Banana Bay

Bahamas weddings beach at Banana Bay on Grand Bahama Island is breathtakingly beautiful. Sandbars to exchange your vows and take beautiful pictures, a rustic deck overlooking the wide expanse of beach with the blue horizon in the distance make this spot a winner.

Debbie Grass and Richard Benton of Maine set sail from Portland aboard their sleek sailboat, The Wren, in July 2015. Destination: Banana Bay, Grand Bahama Island.  Richard told Debbie, a rookie sailor, if she sailed to the Bahamas with him, he would marry her.  The two were introduced to each other by a mutual friend.  A widower, Debbie never dreamed of marrying again. The couple had never visited the Bahamas.  They were not disappointed when I took them to visit their Bahamas weddings beach venue at Banana Bay.

Arriving at West End on Grand Bahama Island where they cleared Bahamas Immigration and Customs, they then travelled to Ocean Reef Marina, Freeport where they spent some four weeks until wedding date, April 20, 2016.

Exuma Bahamas Wedding at Turquoise Cay

An Exuma Bahamas wedding at Turquoise Cay Boutique Hotel is very special.  Divided into three major areas – Great Exuma, Little Exuma and the Exuma Cays, each offers its own very unique experiences.  This string of The Islands of The Bahamas are located south of the New Providence.

The biggest of this string is Great Exuma, an area once a shelter for privateers. Today, Great Exuma has an air terminal and is a great deal more available to travelers than any time in recent memory. The essential draw of Great Exuma is its white sand shorelines that spill into the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Notwithstanding, there are more than just shorelines in Great Exuma; truth be told, Great Exuma was voted as one of the main ten excursion destinations in 2004 by the Washington Post. The capital of the Exuma Islands, George Town, is situated in Great Exuma, and, despite the fact that it is the essential traveler destination.
