This gorgeous Caribbean destination wedding was fostered through getting to know The Bahamas from very early childhood. Jacquelyn’s love for The Bahamas was instilled as she and her father sailed their boat through the turquoise waters and traded stories and goods with local fishermen. These early adventures by this South Florida family created a bond not just with the islands but with the spirit of Bahamian life – its people, its rhythms, and the breathtaking natural beauty.
Over the years, Jacquelyn and her partner, Gonzalo, continued exploring The Bahamas together. It didn’t take long for Gonzalo to fall under Eleuthera’s spell as well. They introduced Eleuthera to two Miami friends. This couple fell in love, too. So much so that they built a beachfront home on the Caribbean side of the island. Naturally, when it came to say “I do” Eleuthera was the only place that felt right. Their vision: a wedding that was elegant yet organic, deeply personal, and undeniably Bahamian.
This turned out to be a bittersweet weekend. As we planned Jacquelyn’s wedding, we discussed shipping her father’s special handicapped vehicle to the island so he could walk her down the aisle. Sadly, her father was hospitalized weeks before the wedding and passed away just before the wedding.
Jacquelyn found us online and contacted Marva, our founder and lead planner. We were hired and planning began. Finally, planning a luxury Caribbean destination wedding that was 12 years in the making began.

Caribbean Destination Wedding: The Oceanfront Ceremony
We decided on The Potlatch’s Oceanfront Deck for the couple’s wedding ceremony. A beautiful early evening exchange of nuptials to reflect Jacquelyn’s love for Eleuthera was witnessed by the couple closest family and friends from Miami. The lighting was perfect. The mood was perfect. Love abounded.
Reception Dinner Indoors at The Fig Tree Restaurant
The Potlatch Club’s Fig Tree Restaurant was the venue for Jacquelyn and Gonzalo’s reception dinner. This cozy setting provided an elegant atmosphere for guests to enjoy a delicious four-course meal in a chill setting.
The Potlatch Club boutique hotel, a private Eleuthera wedding estate like no other, offers fine dining experience for you and your guests. Jacquelyn and Gonzalo chose The Fig Tree Restaurant for their reception dinner. Jacquelyn and Gonzalo’s love for Eleuthera wedding reception dining experience was exquisite.

The After Party
Jacquelyn loves a party! She loves to dance! Donned with a white feather headband on her head, Jacquelyn relished the Briland Allstars Junkanoo group danced the party from The Fig Tree Restaurant to The Sand Bar for an After Party. Dancing and late-night snacks were the order of the evening. With DJ Ignite at the controls, the party rocked keeping everyone on the dance floor late into the night. Gonzalo planned theatrics with the cooperation of DJ Ignite.
The Best Saved for This Special Day
The Potlatch Club is where Jacquelyn wanted guests only to experience on wedding day. From their ocean-front ceremony to cocktail hour at The Sand Bar, dinner in The Fig Tree Restaurant to After Party at The Sand Bar and Pavillion Pool, the day was an experience like no other!
