Couple: Covid Lockdown Causes Couple to Elope in the Bahamas

Sara and Steve were determined to elope in the Bahamas. While under Covid-19 lockdown in the UK, the couple realized they were in love. They decided to elope in the Bahamas. Not without jumping through hoops to get here, though!.

Sara, a university deputy head, and Steve, former Welsh International Rugby Union player and company director, met on Linked In. Steve offered a service that Sara was interested in. The two struck up a relationship. While on lockdown during COVID-19, the two realized that they were in love and decided to marry.

Sara and Steve dreamed of a beautiful private and secluded beach. Wedding day at Orange Hill Beach.

Sara leads a hectic work life. As Steve enjoys planning, she gladly relinquished the reigns of organizing their elopement. Steve encountered several roadblocks. Flights were canceled. Hotels’ reopening was delayed. Finally, Steve secured a flight via Toronto. They were on their way. Having taken off, they began receiving text messages telling them of a UK wide lockdown. They barely made it! A little longer, and they may not have been able to travel.

But, while in transit, the couple had to stay in a bubble for 17 hours without a comfortable place to sleep and nowhere to eat. They persevered. It was all worth it.

With accommodations booked at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, the two were on their way!

The wedding day arrived. The sun shone crisply. Steve took the morning to enjoy golf. Meanwhile, Sara enjoyed in-room beauty pampering by LucyLu Brides. The day passed quickly. It was time for Sara and Steve to say I Do. The day was perfect. Low tide, calm ocean, and lovely sunshine. The Strings n Tings Duet played prelude music. Then Sara walked down the aisle. Dr. Reginald Eldon performed the ceremony. It was bliss!
