Dana and George’s Fun-filled Destination Wedding in the Bahamas

Have you considered a destination wedding in the Bahamas? To give you a glimpse of a destination wedding, we feature Dana and George’s real wedding. The guest experience was most important to the couple. They wanted a simple, relaxed, casual fun-filled weekend.
Dana and George of Atlantic Beach, Florida, flew 40 close family and friends to Nassau, the Bahamas for a weekend of parties. Because this was an unusual weekend wedding celebration, experiences were planned off the beaten path. From the moment the group arrived in the Bahamas, fun, and bonding begun. Once settled in accommodations at the lovely Cove Atlantis, Paradise Island, the party got into full swing.
Authentic Destination Wedding in the Bahamas
Guests were welcomed with an authentic Bahamian experience. And, the venue: the popular Oh Andros Restaurant at the colorful seaside Arawak Cay. Sky Juice (coconut water, rum, gin, sweet milk, and milk), delicious bowls of freshly made Conch Salad, followed by Conch Fritters got the evening going. Yummy, hearty platters of seafood, Peas and Rice, plantains, and such were next served family style. Then, it was on to Pirate’s Brewing Company, Bay Street, for Bahamian made beer and libations.
Wedding day Friday, February 10, 2017, arrived. A trace of rain shower threatened. But, in true tropical weather style, bright sunshine and partly cloudy skies popped out. Dana got her day started with on location hairstyling and makeup in her suite. The couple tied the knot mid-morning aboard the luxury Atlantis ll docked at Hurricane Hole Marina. Congratulations and photos followed. Then, anchors up! It was time to set sail for lunch at sea!
Private Cove Experience by Luxury Yacht
Lunch all done, the afternoon’s excitement continued with an excursion to the Captain’s favorite cove off Rose Island. The weather was warm, sunny and delightful. It was the ideal setting for an afternoon of jet skies rides, water-sports, sunbathing and more eats and drinks all to the enjoyment by all. Happy and content, the group sailed back to Hurricane Hole Marina as the sun set. Dining and gaming at the Atlantis completed the action packed day.
This amazing destination wedding in the Bahamas weekend was not complete without an official Bahamas wedding reception. The carefully chosen spot for a lunch reception was the tropical courtyard at Café Matisse, downtown Nassau. Classics such as steak tartare, Risotto and other delicacies were served at a three-course lunch.
Hold on! No wedding at the Atlantis is complete without a morning or afternoon at the Cabanas. After lunch, off the group went to Oceanside Atlantis Cabanas booked by the bride and groom. While at the Cabanas, the group enjoyed drinks, snacks, pool time, laughter and music. Before long, it was time to change and head off to the final evening of dining and gaming at the Atlantis.
Beyond Happy and Content
Finally, to end the weekend, the couple treated family and friends to a morning after brunch at Mosaic Restaurant, The Cove Atlantis. The journey home, needless to say, was filled with guests reliving the wonderful memories so specially created for them.
The bride’s parents flew in from China to celebrate with the couple. So, to extend the time with her mother, the two took off on a three-week holiday in the Serengeti.
What an end to a magnificent destination wedding weekend celebration in Paradise! In addition, the weekend more than created memories last a lifetime.
Dana and George also planned another whirl through Asia for themselves later in the year. Cheers to this awesome, fun loving couple!
