We handle every aspect of planning, designing and executing wedding ceremonies, receptions and honeymoons anywhere in the Bahamas, Jamaica and Turks and Caicos. While weddings are our primary focus, we would love to help you plan an exotic and unforgettable marriage proposal, anniversary, family reunion or a party for any other occasion. Our company’s founder and director, Marva Munroe, has 16 years of Bahamas wedding planning experience – both for private celebrations and on-site – for some of the most elite venues in the islands. Who is available to perform our ceremony?

The choice is yours! Whether you prefer to be married by an ordained minister, rabbi, imam or Justice of the Peace, we can connect you with an available party to perform your Caribbean marriage ceremony.

Where should we stay?

The Bahamas offers some of the most beautiful accommodations anywhere and all-inclusive wedding packages are offered at many resorts. Where can I find additional wedding vendors?

Part of our role as your destination wedding planner is to suggest and help you work with the very best wedding professionals in the islands. Can I rent a tuxedo on the island?

Absolutely – there are several rental shops for tuxedos and other formalwear options in the Bahamas and Northern Caribbean Islands. We’re delighted to make recommendations upon request.

Do I need a backup location?

Your peace of mind is our priority, so regardless of the bountiful sunny days, we always ensure that a backup location is reserved should the tropical weather decide not to cooperate on your wedding day.

Do I need a marriage license in order to be married in the Bahamas?

Yes, a wedding license will need to be obtained at the specific island where you’re being married. Please note, you need to arrive in Nassau, Grand Bahama or the Out Islands at least 24 hours prior to applying for your license. The office is not open on weekends, so plan accordingly to avoid surprises!

Can Chic Bahamas Weddings help me acquire a marriage license?

Yes! We’re happy to provide this service for our clients’ convenience. We can help you apply for and collect your license prior to the wedding.

Is a blood test required to apply for a marriage license?

No, a blood test is not required for marriage licenses in the Bahamas.

How much does a wedding license cost?

Currently the cost of a marriage license in the Bahamas is $220.00, which is included in your total fee to Chic Bahamas Weddings. This fee covers the license itself, the two required affidavits of singlehood and one certified copy of your marriage certificate.

Will my Bahamas wedding be valid in my home country?

Yes, your wedding in the Bahamas will be considered 100% legal and accepted in all countries around the world!
