Couple: Spring Wedding in the Tropics

Getting married in paradise! Get ready for a wedding full of beautiful moments, romantic details, and fun at the beach. When Wesley and Oscar gathered with their friends and family in the Bahamas, they kicked off the celebrations with a rehearsal dinner on the sand. It started a fabulous time at Grand Isle Resort and Residences in Great Exuma.

The excitement to finally arrive at the luxury resort was elevated since their wedding had been twice postponed due to Covid. Having all their guests in one resort to make the most of their time together was important to Wesley and Oscar, so the Emerald Bay resort was an ideal location.

Getting ready is always a festive part of the day. Wesley prepared gift bags for her bridal party girls with goodies, including tropical leaf print pajamas to wear before they changed into their wedding outfits. Everyone had their hair and makeup professionally done, while the boys had a leisurely time giving cheers and chatting with the slightly nervous groom. The champagne was soon popping in the girl’s room too, and with the ceremony set-up complete, it was time to get married!

Wesley looked stunning in a lacy gown with a plunging back, just right for the tropics. Oscar wore a blue linen suit and white floral buttonhole. The ceremony was moved indoors due to the weather but cleared for bridal portraits afterward. They said their “I dos” under a pretty canopy of peach and pink flowers with greenery, with their guests witnessing their best love story moment yet.

Photographer Alfred Anderson documented the whole day beautifully, capturing the couple’s soulful love and all the wedding day moments they want to remember. The dramatic sky that came with the moody weather made an unbelievable backdrop for the newlywed and group photos, and that wooden boardwalk to the beach is so rustic.

Then there was more celebrating with an amazing feast Bahamas-style and lots of dancing, speeches, and partying. Cake cutting was always a highlight of the wedding reception, and the double-tiered creation with silver brushed icing was so on trend.

The bride said her day was incredible despite a little rain.

“On my wedding day, I felt incredibly peaceful while still excited and nervous. I was so excited to finally be celebrating with family and friends in this beautiful location, and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget.”

Fun Time for All

And the couple’s guests were impressed with the whole experience.

“They told us that they thought the entire wedding weekend, from the welcome party to the wedding day, was such a fun and special experience. They raved about how fabulous Marva and all of our vendors were and how it all came together beautifully.”

Wesley and Oscar’s Bahamas wedding was full of joy and happiness, and we were blessed to have a couple who were so kind, stylish, and excited about the whole travel experience, with the wedding day as the main event.
