Real Destination Weddings in Eleuthera Bahamas

Couple: Romantic Waterfront Eleuthera Wedding

A Micro Wedding With Substantial Memories

Kim and Paul first met at church. They struck up a relationship. Paul proposed. The couple wanted an intimate and secluded wedding surrounded by their nearest and dearest. They instantly fell in love with Glass Window Villas—a brand-new North Eleuthera wedding venue, making their service the first destination wedding hosted at the property.

With guests flying in from the UK and the US, their multi-day event included luxury yacht excursions, fishing, massages, cocktail hours, and a sparkler exit for the bride and groom. While every destination wedding is a poignant affair, Kim and Paul’s was particularly moving due to an emergency at the start of their relationship.

With their destination wedding all set for Wednesday, 23rd November 2022, Kim and Paul arrived on the island the Saturday before. This meant they could unpack, relax and explore the incredible out islands of the Bahamas before the multi-day wedding celebrations started. A private chef, spa treatments, and scuba diving gave Kim and Paul several unforgettable memories before their wedding began! And Paul first met at church. However, their story could have been very different from today’s. During one of their visits, Paul suffered a heart attack and collapsed. Kim had no alternative but to issue CPR, keeping Paul alive until medics arrived.

Over the next few days, the couple’s 17 guests arrived and were ferried to the island and met with a welcome bag that included water, bug spray, and rum cake. Every little detail was taken care of. We also arranged private breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, complete with DJ and a steel band show, and a luxury yacht excursion for the whole group, to get the wedding party started.

Paul received urgent medical care, and thanks to Kim’s quick thinking and efforts, he fully recovered. Doctors urged Paul to continue with a healthy diet and regular exercise. Having experienced how quickly life can change, the couple knew that they wanted to celebrate their love with a meaningful and private wedding when the time came.

On The Day

At Chic Bahamas Weddings, we take the stress out of planning luxury weddings in the Bahamas. On Kim and Paul’s celebration day, we met and transferred the hair and makeup artists from the airport to the island. Our team was then on hand to set up the cocktail hour and reception, transforming our picture-perfect island into the couple’s ideal venue. We also regularly checked in on both the bride and groom.

The couple had opted for a private and romantic ceremony with pastel colors and many flowers. Kim also wanted a circular arch enhanced with stunning florals.

Meanwhile, celebrant Dr. Reg Eldon had arrived, and the couple’s photographer, Josh Newton, was busy capturing memories. The High Rock Band was also in place, and as guests began to take their seats, music played in the background.

And their guests.

Here Comes The Bride

With everyone in place, it was time for the religious ceremony. Paul stood patiently waiting at the altar with his son Matthew with the white powdery sands of Gaulding Cay beach in the background. First, the couple’s two flower girls entered with ‘Begin Again’ playing, followed by Kim — who looked breathtakingly elegant — with her two sons, Zach and Jake. Vows exchanged, pictures taken, and guest book signed; it was time to start the destination wedding celebrations in style!

Real Destination Weddings Eleuthera: A Destination Wedding To Remember

We kicked things off with a cocktail hour at Palm Groves. With music from the band playing in the background, our team of waiters worked the room and offered canapes chosen by the newlyweds. It was then time for everyone to be shown to their seats for dinner, and the new Dr. and Mrs. Goodfellow’ were introduced.

Next was the all-important first dance, where Kim took the floor to share a special moment with her two sons. The dance floor was then opened up, and the band was replaced by a DJ who played until late. To end the evening, Kim and Paul waved goodbye during a sparkler exit, putting the finishing touches to their incredible destination wedding.

A Bahamas Wedding That Keeps On Giving

Kim and Paul wanted to give their guests a week in the Bahamas to remember, so we created a lineup of activities for the days following the wedding. This included private breakfasts and verandah dinners, relaxing pool time, snorkeling, fishing, and swimming with turtles.
