Real Destination Weddings: Arrivals, Preparations and Finishing Touches

Dani and Kiel’s journey began a few days before the main event on Tuesday. The couple and a few other guests landed at North Eleuthera Airport, having flown with Silver Airways. Pre-arranged transportation meant that their celebrations got off to a stress-free and seamless start and a private transfer safely journeyed the group to the luxurious La Palmeraie Villa, where our team were on-hand to welcome guests.

Over the next few days, more of the wedding party arrived at Harbour Island North Eleuthera, each of whom were greeted with carefully curated welcome bags. Hand-packed by our team, inside guests were treated to a selection of Kalik— a local beer— refreshing water, a traditional rum cake from the Bahamas, local candies and sunscreen which would prove to be essential under the warmth of the midday rays. These small yet personal touches were greatly appreciated by all guests and it made sure that everyone began the weekend of celebration feeling treasured and embraced within the Bahamian culture.

Sunset Ceremonies and Bahamas Weddings

Dani and Kiel had always dreamt of a sunset wedding on the beach. With low tide estimated at around 5.50pm and the sunset due to take place at around 7.50pm, we set for a sunset wedding at around 7.53pm. It can’t be denied that the couple couldn’t have chosen a more romantic and impressive time or setting. The warm glow of the sun setting over the cerulean waters was simply the perfect backdrop for Dani and Kiel to say their vows.

What’s more, the beach ceremony set up at the Coral Sand Resort Beach was adorned with soft drapes, floral arrangements, white chairs, and large lanterns as well as a wooden arbor creating a visual delight for guests and the happy couple alike. From the pool to the beach, the walkway was lit up with decorations and lanterns, and a playful ‘Shoes Here, Vows There’ sign meant that guests knew exactly which way to go and were invited to experience the cooling sand between their toes.

When Dani walked down the aisle to ‘The Promise’, Kiel waited with bated breath taking in every part of her incredible gown. There was hardly a dry eye on the beach. And when Dani and Kiel first saw each other, it was definitely one for the books. The anticipation, the joy, the undeniable love.

With the ceremony over, the newlyweds and guests were ushered into a private cocktail hour by the pool of the Coral Sands Resort. Brilanders, a Bahamian band, were tasked with setting the mood which they did effortlessly with island rhythms and Bahamian beats. Guests sipped signature cocktails including ‘The Dani’, a specially created Bahamian mocktail and ‘The Kiel’, a delicious Gin Bramble, crafted for the evening.

Following on from the ceremony decoration, the reception decor was equally as elegant and tropical. Bentwood rattan chairs were placed around large white tables, covered in white linen, and small glass votives further enhanced the overall romantic atmosphere.

It was a night full of love and emotion— from the guests toasting the couple, to the mother of the bride offering a heartwarming speech, to Dani & Kiel’s first dance to the tune of ‘I’m Yours, You’re Mine’ by Mary Wells. Dances were enjoyed, laughs were had, and lifelong memories were made in what was truly a romantic and personalized celebration of two individuals and their love.

Final Departures and Farewells

After a night filled with dancing, laughter, celebrations, and love, it was time for Dani and Kiel to bid farewell to Harbour Island, as well as their guests. It might have been the end of the event but everyone was leaving with cherished memories and a glimpse into a fairytale love story.
