Summer Beach Chic Bahamas Wedding: Natalia and Doug
A summer beach chic Bahamas wedding was Natalia and Doug’s vision for their wedding. Easy, breezy and a time to bond with relatives and friends were also key words for their special occasion. The south Florida couple visited several Bahamas wedding venues before deciding on Grand Bahama Island for their nuptials.
We started off scouting Bahamas weddings Nassau about a year and a half before event date. A major resort among others venues were checked out. Specifications such as a venue that offered a beach bonfire and a midnight curfew were top of mind for this couple. The next stop as our search for that perfect spot for their event was Harbour Island. However, proximity to South Florida was a key factor in choosing their Bahamas wedding site. Being able to take a fast ferry to the island of choice was another must for the couple. Many of their guests chose this option while others flew to Freeport.
Bahamas Destination Wedding Site Visits
The couple followed their Harbour Island scout with two site visits to Grand Bahama Island and decided on that Bahamas wedding location. They chose Taino Beach Resort for Bahamas wedding ceremony and reception sites. Both were steps away from the other. We were then set to begin planning their beach chic Bahamas wedding.
Natalia and Doug visited with me so that we had a chance to see the various units Taino offered as well as do a food tasting. We spent time reviewing flowers, linens, layouts for ceremony and reception.
The months flew by and the big day arrived. On Saturday, June 24, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Natalia and Doug said “I Do” before some 66 family and friends. Natalia chose not to have a bridal party. Parents served as witnesses.

A nautical beach chic Bahamas wedding theme was chosen. Very artistic and hands on, the couple made their table numbers, escort sand dollars a DIY project.
Following a beach ceremony, guests moved to the cocktail hour where steel pan strains greeted them. Passed hors d’oeuvres and beverages flowed. Guests were later escorted to dinner under the Pavillion at Taino by the Sea Restaurant where a sumptuous buffet spread awaited them.
DJ Ampero played a mix of top 40s and salsa keeping the party on their feet dancing until well after midnight.
Relaxed after the evening’s festivities, Natalia, Doug and guests retreated to the beach bonfire where drank and chatted well into the morning.
Guests enjoyed a Sunday morning brunch hosted by the groom’s father after an amazingly fun wedding.
Beach Chic Bahamas Wedding Review
The couple honeymooned at Fowl Cay, the Exumas.
Upon her return home, Natalia and Doug crafted this Bahamas wedding review: “It is not easy to plan a destination wedding, but Marva and Chic Bahamas Weddings made it fun and stress free. We called many agencies in the Bahamas but when we talked to Marva we knew that we found a winner. From the very start we could tell she was extremely organized, prompt and always answered our phone calls, text and emails immediately. We always felt that our wedding was her top priority. She is creative and helped us craft the image of what our dream wedding would become. She worked tirelessly to cover every detail but always with a smile. We both felt confident that everything was going to be perfect and it was! She made our dreams come true and exceeded our expectations.” Natalia and Doug Laurie
