5 Ideas We’re Loving That Add Thoughtful Touches to Your Day

Your wedding in the Bahamas is sure to be an unforgettable occasion. You’re getting married in paradise, after all!

The beautiful blue sky, turquoise sea, and swaying palms will provide a breathtaking backdrop for your nuptials. But there are also many ways you can add to the beauty of these surroundings with thoughtful touches.

Having planned many weddings in the Bahamas, I’ve helped couples incorporate some lovely personal details into their day. These special touches reflect the couples’ story and style. And they bring the added element of delighting guests.

Take a look at some of my favorite ways to add mindful and meaningful details to your wedding day.

Your wedding invitations set the stage for your big day and hint at future things. You can work with your stationery designer to create a design that reflects your wedding style, colors, and theme. And this design can run through your suite of paper to create a cohesive look.

Invitations also give your guests the practical information they need about your wedding. I recommend including a details card in addition to your invitation and RSVP card. A details card (also called an information card) keeps guests informed about what to expect.

This card can include information about your welcome party or rehearsal dinner. Or you can have detailed information like hotel accommodations, directions, and dress code requirements.

As you’ll be hosting a destination wedding, you might also want to include a map card to highlight interesting locations for guests to explore while in the Bahamas.

2) Protected Vows

Years from now, you may not remember your exact vows, so I encourage couples to handwrite or print them in a beautiful book. You could also have the book personalized with your names and wedding date as an added thoughtful touch. Set it on your coffee table as a sweet reminder, or tuck it away in a display case.

Your vow book not only becomes a way to keep your promises protected from the elements but also provides you with a cherished keepsake you can revisit each anniversary. It may even become an heirloom!

For example, Brendan had a custom suit made by Indochino. The beautiful blue jacket featured a tropical print inside, the couple’s name, and their wedding date.

Brides get a lot of attention when it comes to wedding attire. And while I love seeing the beautiful gowns our brides choose to wear, I’m also a fan of the well-suited groom. A custom suit, in particular, adds a thoughtful touch to a couple’s wedding day.

4) Tropical Tablescapes

Why not infuse your day with island-style when getting married in the Bahamas? I love helping couples do this by creating tropical tablescapes full of lush details and texture.

Whether you like simple and sophisticated or statement-making décor, I can help you create a reception space that will wow guests. From the moment they take their seats.

Tropical blooms and greenery, soft candlelight, patterned linens, and textured charger plates – these are all things that bring a table to life and add to the island feel.

5) Ceiling Treatments

Ceiling treatments make an incredible statement and can transform any space. And there are so many ways to create beautiful installations using fabric, lighting, and florals.

If you want to create an abundance of ambiance, consider cascading ceiling florals or a pergola with a floral installation above each guest table. This is a stunning way to make a large room feel more intimate. And it adds an elegant tropical feel to the space.

Keep in mind your lighting options, as well. It’s incredible how transformative good lighting can be, and the possibilities are endless! A chandelier adds sophisticated sparkle, while disco balls can add a playful pop to the dance floor.

These are only a few wonderful ways to add thoughtful touches to your wedding day! Which one of them do you love the most?
