The Top Three 2022 Wedding Trends We Are Most Excited For

Top Three 2022 Trends

When designing beautiful Bahama weddings, we often draw inspiration from new bridal trends. As Bahamas wedding planners and designers, we also like to imagine we could create some wedding trends because fresh ideas are always flowing in our tropical office here in the Bahamas.

We’ve discussed (and debated) the trends we see emerging for 2022 and are super excited for all of them. But three make our hearts dance with extra joy. Our engaged couples love these trends too, so let’s put on our sparkly beach sandals and take a walk down the virtual sandy aisle to see what’s happening this year.

As much as we adore the white and green color palettes that were so popular during recent seasons, we are all for the bright tropical colors trending for 2022. The vibrant shades of pink, red, orange, yellow, and purple in tropical florals like ginger, heliconia, protea, and orchids have us swooning. These colors reflect the surroundings of the islands and look stunning in a luxurious wedding setting. We can get very creative with color and it can be subtle using one or two colors mixed together or dramatic with a festive mix of many colors.  We love these new bridal trends!

After dealing with the pandemic, it’s no wonder couples are going wild with brilliant hues. Eye-catching colors and festivities go so well together and it’s time to celebrate life and love.

It’s not just flowers that deliver the wow factor when it comes to color. Decorations, food and drink, linens, and furniture can all be used to add pops of color that look as wonderful in real life as they do in your wedding photos and video.

2022 wedding trend of small destination weddings

We’re seeing more intimate destination weddings as couples splash out in more ways than one. Just because the wedding guest list is small doesn’t mean the celebration has to be scaled back. Couples are investing in lavish florals, upmarket venues, and exquisite lighting because they don’t have to budget as much for food and drink as initially planned. The details, atmosphere, and guest experience are all being emphasized, making intimate weddings more dreamy and sentimental than ever.

As well as an absolutely sensational wedding day, elopements and micro weddings are turning into days or week-long celebrations spanning several locations in the Bahamas. For example, a couple might choose beautiful Out Islands like Eleuthera or Andros for a secluded, private ceremony, then travel to another island for their honeymoon or stay with family and friends to vacation together.

Fine dining, feeding turtles, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, boat trips, shopping, and exploring beautiful beaches are all on the agenda, with daily cocktails and plenty of spa treatments, of course! An intimate wedding is one of the best ways to make the most of being in love in paradise.

Sequel Weddings

For sequel weddings, which can involve several ceremonies or events spread out over multiple days, we are also getting requests for lavish affairs with a focus on bridal events that are memorable, exquisite, and awe-inspiring. The Bahamas lends itself perfectly for such creations to unfold. From stunning ocean backdrops to food and cocktails infused with Caribbean flavors to local musicians entertaining everyone all night long, you can have a wedding that will be a highlight of everyone’s year. When hosting a sequel wedding, think about dresses like these.

We work closely with couples to make their wedding vision become reality. So whether you know exactly what you want or have no idea where to start, we will guide you every step of the way, incorporating any trends that resonate with your love story. We aim to exceed all your expectations of what your best day ever in the Bahamas will look like so let’s talk soon if you are ready to start planning your beautiful wedding.
