A Palm Lined Country Club Seaside Fall Bahamas Wedding

Donovan and Kristin’s palm tree lined country club ceremony set the tone for their fun, romantic seaside reception dinner that followed at Goldwynn Resort, Cable Beach. A lawn was a must for Donovan and the Goldwyn’s oceanside lawn was a must for Kristin.

One hundred and fifty family and friends joined the couple for their very special day. Family and friends traveled from Canada, the US, and Grand Bahama Island.

How The Couple Met

Donovan and Kristin met online. As fate would have it, the two met on social media because of similarities in education and interests. They both attended International Baccalaureate schools, then college in the US and Canada.

Donovan traveled to Nassau to have lunch with Kristin at what’s now become their favorite restaurant, A Social House. Thereafter, a distance relationship bloomed. The situation changed when, because of business, Donovan moved to Nassau full-time. The rest is history.

Donovan proposed to Kristin on New Year’s Eve 2024. Close family members were present for the surprise engagement at SLS Baha Mar.

Wedding Plans Begin for Palm Tree Lined Country Club Ceremony

Wedding plans began. Setting the wedding date was tied to their first date at A Social House — November 15.

Donovan had his heart set on a lush lawn ceremony setting. Kristin wanted to ensure that Donovan’s wishes were met. Marva, the wedding planner, and Donovan’s mom, who is also principal planner at Chic Bahamas Weddings, suggested a site visit at Royal Blue Golf Course, Baha Mar. It was love at first sight. The couple decided on the beautiful Royal Blue Golf Club for their ceremony.

The Wedding Day

Palm Tree Lined Nassau Wedding

A Welcome Party at the bride’s family’s home the evening before.

Excitement reigned as wedding day arrived. Beauty appointments got underway on location at the Goldwynn Resort. Kristin’s personal hairstylist Shana, and makeup artist Yeisha Forbes were on set.

Floral designer, Robert of RAH Designs and a team of florists worked magic as they set up for the early afternoon ceremony at Blue Golf Club.

Kristin’s father, Stuart had the honor of performing the marriage while Pastor Lyle, Kristin’s minister, and Donovan’s minister Bishop Rolle as liturgist and brought prayers respectively.

Reception Dinner and Dancing Oceanside

Guests moved from Royal Blue to Goldwynn Resort ocean side’s lawn for a tented wedding. A spread of stations featuring an eight-hour roasted lamb, grilled fish, an array of Mediterranean grains and vegetables with a dessert bar for guests to enjoy.

Emcee, Ozzie, the Ventertainer, kept guests entertained as DJ iGnite’s music had guests on the dance floor the entire evening. Junkanoo by the famed Valley Boys brought on the magic and guests rushed to the pulsating sounds.

The After Party moved to the Jazz Bar at Baha Mar. The following day, guests were feted at a Terrace Brunch at Oia before departing for their various destinations.
